Statement on the Fourth Community Advisory Committee  (CAC) Meeting

Wednesday, December 11, 2019

The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) had its fourth meeting on December 3. We discussed the Second Quarterly Report as well as areas of improvement including consolidation of developments, public safety, resident council training, construction, scaffolding, and repairs at community centers. You can watch the meeting here.

The CAC meeting has been viewed over 300 times already and we will continue to strive towards increased resident and community engagement. The CAC will continue to meet regularly as we seek to deliver improvements for NYCHA residents. As part of our work on the CAC we will also continue to solicit input directly from the residents and other stakeholders at our Community Meetings.

The next Community Meeting will take place on Thursday, January 9 at the Jacob Riis Community Center at Queensbridge North, 10-25 41st Avenue, Long Island City, at 6:00 pm.  I look forward to seeing you there. In the meantime, please read the Heat Action Plan I recently approved which provides concrete steps for how NYCHA will respond to, fix heat outages and prevent outages that many residents have been experiencing over the last few years.

Very truly yours,

Bart M. Schwartz
