Statement on the Second Community Advisory Committee Meeting
Saturday, August 3, 2019
On Tuesday July 30, I convened the second Community Advisory Committee (CAC) which was held at the Johnson Community Center in East Harlem. The audio recording of the meeting is available here.
The role of a Monitor as defined by the Agreement is to identify and help implement systemic solutions. This is why we have residents on the CAC in addition to other stakeholders and responsible government agencies. I also provided a summary of some of the findings and recommendations from my First Quarterly Report which was made public on July 22, 2019. This was followed by presentations from the CAC members about some of the important areas for improvement we’ve identified together. The meeting was concluded with a continuation of the public session which opened the meeting.
Thank you to all who attended and I hope you will continue to stay engaged and join me at the next meeting.
Very truly yours,
Bart M. Schwartz
Federal Monitor appointed pursuant to Agreement dated January 31, 2019
