The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) held its latest meeting on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 via a virtual platform. Federal Monitor, Bart M. Schwartz, and the monitoring team’s Resident Engagement Team Leader, Asha Muldro, hosted the meeting which was viewed by about 100 people via a live stream. A recording from the meeting is available.

Mr. Schwartz noted that the end of January marked the second anniversary of the HUD agreement and highlighted how valuable the Committee has been to the monitoring team.

Additional highlights of the discussion included the approval from Mr. Schwartz on all the Actions Plans provided for under the HUD Agreement; the continuous discussions around the Organizational Plan; status of vaccination sites throughout NYCHA housing from Senior Advisor of Housing and Economic Development, Jodi Callender; and an announcement from NYCHA Executive Vice President for Strategy and Innovation, Eva Trimble, about the soft launch of a new e-portal system to streamline NYCHA’s annual review and recertification process – an idea that was initially introduced at a CAC meeting by Ms. Nancy Ortiz.

Please continue to visit the nychamonitor.com website for information on upcoming meetings. This includes a virtual educational meeting to discuss the Elevator Action Plan on March 10, 2021 and the Brooklyn virtual community meeting, open to all residents and community members, on March 16, 2021.
