The Monitors will prepare reports approximately four times a year describing the progress NYCHA has made on improving housing conditions for NYCHA residents.
Monitors’ December 2024 Report
On December 19, 2024, the Monitors issued their second report. The report provides an update on NYCHA’s improvement or regression for the six “property management” areas in which the HUD Agreement imposes substantive requirements: heat, pests and waste, lead paint, mold and leaks, elevators, and inspections. The report also discusses NYCHA's progress in implementing various initiatives intended to improve its organizational structure and ensure sustained compliance with the Agreement’s other requirements.
Monitors’ August 2024 Report
On August 21, 2024, the new Monitors issued their first report. The report provides an overview of the monitorship and the circumstances that led to it, including background about how this monitorship has been structured and the activities of the second term of the monitorship. It discusses the six “property management” areas in which the HUD Agreement imposes substantive requirements to improve housing conditions at NYCHA’s developments: heat, pests and waste, lead paint, mold and leaks, elevators, and inspections. It also discusses the progress NYCHA has made to improve the structure and functioning of NYCHA as an organization under the HUD Agreement.
